What's Mine is Yours- Hartman

Postby magicfish » March 20th, 2024, 9:42 pm

Hey folks. I've been going through Trickery Treats by J.K. Hartman again.
I've rediscovered an old gem. It is a quick, magical item called What's Mine is Yours.
It can stand alone as a chosen card discovery but I love it as an interlude between effects. Harry Lorayne's 'Your Favourite Card' has always been a favourite in the 'brief anytime magical interlude between card effects' category, but this bit of gold from Mr. Hartman is my new pet.
It reintroduced me to an excellent colour change from Raj Mahdok as well. At first, I was executing the change with the card outjogged and mimicking the action of the James/Ellis Unloading move. It didn't seem right- and it wasn't. I read it a dozen more times slowly. There is no outjog, but an ingenious small packet propulsion with a wrist turn. Executed as per the text, the change is instantaneous, visual, magic.
My new favourite colour change!
(And I dislike colour changes in general)
Anyway, in my opinion, this little trick is an anytime anywhere beauty.
Enjoy!
