Ibidem #20

Postby JHostler » November 14th, 2023, 7:12 am

I must have perused the bound Ibidem set 100 times over the last XX years, and only last night noticed that volume two lacks issue #20. No pages have been removed; the page number simply skips from 406 to 439. Is this speed reading feature exclusive to a specific edition or print run, or are all of them like this???

My volume is complete. I have all the pages of issue 20.

Take care. This issue is dedicated to Ed Marlo. Maybe one of his detractors tore out the pages.

Beware of those around you.

All joking aside, if you need a scan of it, I can send it to you.

Very odd! I have issue 20 in my bound volume, which is marked 'First Edition.'

My guess is that issue 20 by happinstance comprises a complete signature of either 16 or 32 pages. Sometimes, since the signatures are collated mechanically, one can get skipped by accident. You should contact Stephen Minch to see if there are any remaining copies since yours is defective.

Or you can always announce you have a unique collector's edition and offer it to sell at a premium...
just a thought.

If you’re missing pp 407 - 410 I’m afraid you’ve also lost the final article in #419 - ‘Rough Handling’ ☹️

Richard reached out to me about your predicament. I can provide you with a replacement copy of Volume 2 of Ibidem.

Please send me your contact info at david@davidben.com so I can follow up. (I’m not very responsive to the PM component on the Forum.)
