I have rediscovered the power of the pull. I would love to have a dozen set up in my jacket at once. Pens, lighters, card boxes, keys, spoons, ravens, rabbits...well maybe not rabbits.

How about a mousetrap on a pull?

Or a thumbtip on a pull. I bet that would fool all those punk kids who got a thumbtip in their magic kits.

Incidently why are the words cl***ic p***, spelt like that?

The most entertaining pull trick I have ever seen is Jay Sankey's chewing gum restoration.

He began a lecture here in Seattle many years ago by 'finding' some pink bubblegum stuck the the underside of his performance table. He pulled an empty gum wrapper form him pocket, stuck the wad of used gum in it, then squeezed it into a fresh piece all square and tidy in it's wrapper.

One of Jay's best bits.

If you folks want to know the real work on using a pull, Eugene Burger's books have it. I can't remember if it's "The Performance of Close-Up Magic" or "Experience of Magic," but he really gave some great handling tips.
The bubble-gum trick by Jay Sankey was published in his book, "100% Sankey."

John Carney wrote an interesting book on AL BAKER'S LIGHTNING PULL.

But my favorite was THE PULL BOOK by (I think) Patrick Page. Good stuff!

It's in "The Performance of Close-Up Magic," simply because I have "Experience of Magic" and it's not in there. ;)

There is a great imromptu cigarette pull using three rubber bands, a safety pin and packet of gum in Lifesavers by Micheal Weber.

Man, that guy is like the McGuyver of magic.
