You'll notice the ad copy talks extensively about using the light for effects off-camera and in the background - With the exception of some incredibly expensive high end theatre lights (that literally have millions of dollars research and thousands of dollar's components) LED lighting isn't suitable for skin tones or rapid movements all of which are a key feature in close-up performance.

Agreed about lighting the performer. Imagine the lighting bar on the table in front or to the side to throw lighting focus / cues on the props when appropriate.
