Question Re: Conway Cigarette Case

Postby erdnasephile » July 16th, 2017, 12:58 pm

Does this prop require the cigarettes to be in place for it to function?

If so, can the cigarettes be replaced with similar sized objects (i.e., golf pencils or crayons) and the case still function properly?

Many thanks!

This is an item released by Ken Brooke. I believe it works almost the same as the Allerton case published in his closeup book.

According to the write-up in his book, The Pat Way To Con, it is based on the Allerton case with the important addition that the case can be opened by a spectator, without concern of them finding anything they shouldn't.

I see no reason why other items can't be used instead of cigarettes. However such cases are no longer in fashion and would be instantly identifiable as a cigarette case by those who would be familiar with them.
