Just curious; what is "your" best 'Twisting the Aces' variation? I'm talking about 'real-world' situations. Besides the original which I use regularly, I enjoy 2 Jennings variations; one is a super easy regular version which can be found in 'The Cardwright' (what's it called?; don't remember) and the other one is found in, I believe, 'Thoughts on Cards'(?) with a nice move at the end to take care of an unwanted face-down card. Any thoughts?

Both gaffed and impromptu versions were in my last book: Tribute.

The impromptu version has the spectator call the order in which the aces turn (with a presentational motivation beyond "because I can").

The gaffed version has a gambling theme and allows you to spread the cards in a fan and show both sides, then uses a different method for the final reverse and adds a kicker ending (courtesy of an idea of J.K. Hartman's) which cleans up the gaff.

I still go by the theory that Vernon did all the variations and threw out all but the good ONE. That's why (IMHO) his Triumph and Twisting are the best, cleanest, easiest for the audience to follow ways. :genii:

Same here. I have gone through many variations and still do the first. Ascanio used to say, regarding Vernon material in general, that he often searched for ways to improve a trick and, after going through it all, there was Vernon waiting at the end of the corridor, smoking his cigar.
