Origami Wallet - Fujiwara Kuniyasu

I purchased "Origami Wallet" from Seo Magic and really like the effect. I was able to perform it after just a few hours of practice (the DVD instruction is pretty effective). One of the best things is that I can make up my own wallet using paper and give this away afterwards. This has gone over very well with kids (especially if I give them the three bucks at the end!)

I have found several great entries for Mr. Fujiwara in "New Magic of Japan and in "Japan Ingenious". Both of these books are filled with really clever and effective magic.

Mr. Fujiwara, like many Japanese magicians, is a brilliant creator.

Where else in print might I find effects from him?

There might be a trick in Genii, but I'm not sure. Otherwise nothing.

His magazine entries are collected in those books.

He is very clever.

Apparently he had some videos out in Japan. It would be great to see them put out in English on DVD.

Also in Five Times Five.

Unsurprisingly, considering the title, he has five effects in there.

He's got a trick called "Slice!" in Magic Nov 1992, and "Automatic Ace Triumph" and "Mr. Green's Prediction" in Genii, May 2000.

MUM Feb 2006 says about him, "Kuniyasu Fujiwara is someone who can really think outside the origami box. He's a magician who, five years ago, decided to stop performing professionally and devote all his time to creating original magic effects and writing books. His specialty is origami magic, and he currently is focusing his inventive efforts on expanding this new form of magic. He now considers his "performances" to be his lectures and his books. To date, he has written three books on origami and three books on magic and is currently working on three more with origami and magic combined." That issue includes "Half Now, Half Later", "Hypnotized Coin" (which is more of a sight gag than a trick), and "Origami Blossoms".

"Automatic Ace Triumph" is also in Ensuing Impuzzibilities. And SEO Magic has a number of youtube clips of his effects.

Automatic Ace Triumph is a lovely effect. (In addition to those other sources, it's also in Japan Ingenious.)

Luckily I have all of the referenced books. It looks like I will be really busy this weekend. Thanks to all for the input!
