New Edition of Shigeo Takagi's One Cup Routine Now for Sale

Postby Richard Kaufman » November 30th, 2016, 5:03 pm

Steven's Magic, the only magic shop still publishing a catalogue that I look forward to receiving in the mail, has just put out a new edition of Takagi's famous One-Cup routine. This has been done with the permission of Mrs. Takagi and Ton Onosaka. Only 30 sets have been made for the bargain price of $125. This is the version where the large final load appears inside the cup at the end.

The video demo was somewhat painful.

Yes, the demo needs work. The performer might well read the Classic Secrets of Magic by Bruce Elliott to get the Benson one-ball vanish right.

The best one-cup routine for me has always been by Ottawa's Roy Cottee. I think I published it in Genii. Any cup. The ending produces two large spheres of deception and for the second sphere of deception you don't go near your pocket. I used it for years.

I bought mine yesterday. Beautiful. Well made. Priced far less than it should be.

@ Bob Farmer & Daniel Z
This is a very nice routine. Thank you both for bringing it to my attention. It will make a nice change for spectators who've seen me do the chop cup. (Currently I've been using Señor Mardo's Routine "A" one cup & four balls.)
