source for specific one handed shuffle

Postby Brad Henderson » May 11th, 2015, 2:48 pm

I am looking for a source for a one handed riffle shuffle, specifically the one where the packets are RIFFLED together as opposed to 'faroed' at the corners. There are many sources for the latter, but I am looking for the former.

Any leads?

thanks!

Is there one in the Rene Levand books (either the Kaufman one or the Caveney one?)

Dan and Dave have a video that they say is based on Vernon's from Ultimate Secrets of Card Magic.

So maybe there . . .

I had flipped through the levand books and each of those seem to be of the faro type. will look for the Vernon reference.

Del ray did this type of shuffle in his stand up act.

I find the weaving for the faro unreliable plus I like the visual of the finger instigating the riffle.

working on a throw back flourish segment for my summer stage performances. experimenting with framing as a critical tool for influencing audiences perception /valuation of the perceived skill level.

thanks

Here's a similar video to the Dan and Dave video, fully taught:

Looking for the IN THE HANDS riffle shuffle. The Vernon is a tabled one hand riffle shuffle.

thanks for that video link though. I've always wanted to learn that one as well!

ok. pulled up one video of del and he seems to use the same get ready but causes the cards to interlace in a visual manner, as opposed to the less interesting 'smush' I usually see

but I could have sworn i saw him do a different one with a swiveling type initial cut.

back to yhe drawing board
