Help with Marlo Effect
Does anybody know if Marlo had an effect called Unexpected Prediction? If so, and without giving anything away, can somebody describe the basic effect or give me a reference (if in print)? Thanks.
Re: Help with Marlo Effect
There is a reference to this trick in the video title "Ed Marlo Confidential".
Apocalypse Vol 14 No 3 March 1991 has a same titled effect listing under Randy Wakeman, which may be his version of the effect - this is from a web search.

You can find the effect in Expert Card Conjuring P.88.
Effect:"The spectator notes a card which is arrived at apparently at random. The noted card is matched in suit and value by a card the performer removes from his outer breast coat pocket."

Wonderful. Thanks guys. Now I just need to visit my friend Eric Rose who has the Marlo Magazine so I can read this effect. I know he isn't busy!

Hopefully he also has Sharpe's "Expert Card Conjuring". In the 6th magazine there is only an additional tip on this routine.

Ha, thanks again. I'm sure he has the other one too. I've since seen the effect on the Confidential video and I can say that the Wakeman routine mentioned is not the same.

Check out the forthcoming ANTIMONY for an exploration of Marlo's trick and Vernon's THE TRICK THAT CANNOT BE EXPLAINED.

Re: Help with Marlo Effect
Randy Wakeman's effect is a variation of Marlo's Uncontrolled Prediction(Ibidem P.635)

Ah, Brian, invoking my library again? Hmmm. Well, sadly, a fellow offered me more than I could refuse for the Marlo's Magazines so they went off to a collector in France. However, Expert Card Conjuring is right here next to the other Sharpe books.
Give me a call, Brian and we'll come up with a time for you to come over. If I'm not busy. :p
