It's supposed to involve actually taking the coin and letting it drop back again under cover of the fingers. One person said it is in a booklet from 1975 (?), but I can't find any references to it.

It's in More Sleightly Slanted (1977), page 21 under the name Coin Go but it's not really a new variante of the French Drop.
