Quick review:

This is a good update of an old principle/device. The resulting product is simple but effective.

Warning, though: The ad says "The Coin Ditcher is made using readily available, low-cost materials." But this is only true if you own an angle grinder. Otherwise you'll have to take some of the readily available low-cost materials to someone to do the work for you.

This is not mentioned anywhere in the advertisingI consider this a significant omission.

Damn, I just sold my angle grinder as part of a clearout of stuff I don't need anymore (e.g., acetylene welding torch, oil drilling rig, etc.)

Looks like the author added this caveat:

"[Note: The author suggests to use an angle grinder in a part of the build process. However, an angle grinder is not really necessary. It will make the job easier and faster but you can do the same with a hand metal saw and a file]"

How much longer would the job take with saw and file v. angle grinder?

Good question, erdnasephile. The job with a handsaw and file will take about 15-20 minutes. Using a powertool, 3 to 5 minutes.
