Ricky Jay - Card Flying Move
Ricky Jay - Card Flying Move
Hello everyone,
Long time lurker, infrequent poster. :)
I wonder if someone could point me in the right direction for a reference to the move Mr Jay uses in the following clip at around the 02:10 mark? I'm sure I've read about it before but numerous Google searches (and, indeed, searches of this forum) have turned up nothing.
All advice very gratefully received!

Buy the book "Cards as Weapons" by.... Ricky Jay.

And, of course, it would've helped had I actually included the link. :)

Little different method, but you might want to check out
The Lorayne Card Spin (that's the method Jeff McBride uses).

It's described in Cards as Weapons. It's Martin Lewis' Spinner. It may be taught on one of the Jeff McBride dvds as well.

OMG, I just checked out the prices for Cards as Weapons on ebay, I'm hiding my copy when magicians come over...
Re: Ricky Jay - Card Flying Move
Hey, Jonathan, not so fast! Did you check the prices on copies of Jay's book that have recently been SOLD? One went for $21.50 and others have gone for $60-$80 or thereabouts. An autographed copy did get $150. And, hmmm, I see the Magic Castle Library unloaded a copy for $100. Who knew the librarian there was moving out some of the stock? (Just kidding. The receipts go to support the Castle.)

I've never figured out why the book fetched such high prices. Must be the illustrations!

I only read the articles, I never look at the pictures of nude women.

That reminds me of that famous Irving Desfor photo.

I think it is described, as well, in Korem Without Limits.
