Just found this out from a peer...
This Friday 1/4, Saturday 1/5 and Sunday 1/6, Paul Gertner is doing three public appearances of close-up and tales in Rhinebeck, N.Y.
The shows are at 8 p.m. Fri and Sat, and 3 p.m. Sunday, and he's doing a special "magicians only" workshop at noon Sunday. It's at the Center for the Performing Arts and just $20, kids and seniors $18. Phone 845 876-3080. It's called "Ten Fingers, A Play of Magic," and is scripted, similar to what Ricky Jay seems to have pioneered.
