Looking for an auto part that makes a good coin pull

Postby Gary Brown » February 25th, 2011, 12:31 am

This is an odd question. Some years ago, I was in a magic shop when Presto was showing a few British magicians how to construct a coin pull from a small wire device attached to a length of elastic. (I had the pleasure of telling the British guys just who it was that had just taught them an amazing effect!) Anyway, Presto showed us the device -- it was a small wire clip -- as I recall, black wire shaped into a tiny u shape -- which he described as being easy to pick up at an auto parts store.

The problem is, since I have no idea what the clip is or what it's called, I can't exactly wander into an auto parts store to ask for one. Anyone have any idea what this could be?

Ask Ed Solomon (aka Denomolos) of San Antonio, TX. He will know.
