Gluing Cards Together

Postby Bob Farmer » October 6th, 2009, 7:13 am

What's the best way to glue home made gaffed cards together? I've tried UHU Stic and rubber cement spray, but I recall that there was a hot press used for attaching photos to a backing that might work. Apparently there is a sheet of adhesive you put between the surfaces and then put that in the press to set it.

Any ideas or comments would be most appreciated.

Thank you.

Photographic mounting tissue and a heat press (iron) works pretty well - as discovered by Charles Kalish some time ago.

It's called Dry Mount Tissue.

"Bienfang ColorMount 8,5 x 11" works best for me.

To make gaffed "stacks," I lightly sandpaper the adjacent card faces and use Weldbond Adhesive (sparingly) to lute them together. I hope this helps!

I have tried the dry mount method a few times and I like it better than rubber cement.

The ebook mentioned has a lot of good information in it if you want toget into making your own gaffs.
Pick a card....Any card....NO not THAT card..THIS one!

Todd Lassen makes a device to help us all, the Card Gaffing Genii. I just ordered one from him.
