Who is the creator of the effect "Vampire Card Trick" and is it being published in any book ?

What is the effect?

Four cards are shown, three spot cards and a court card. The three spot cards are the "victims" and the court card is the "Vampire".
One by one the vampire sucks the blood from each of the three spot cards turning them into blank cards. In the end the vampire card turns blank as well, since there are no such things as Vampires!

Just a search on Google turns up several demonstrations of it,
maybe e-mailing one of the demonstrators may get an answer.

As can be seen in that clip AS is being used instead of a court card. I think a court card and hearts make more sense.

Those that have my "Vampire Dawn" effect may be able to use one of the vampire cards from that for the effect.

Eugene Burger also had a vampire related effect years back "Dracula and the Sorority Girls" which appeared in his 2nd (?) book but was also later marketed.

I also had another I'd rather forget about in my very first booklet "Mainly Close Up".

Phil Goldstein also had a packet effect in a Linking Ring Parade where pictures of women changed, but don't recall the details, I think maybe one card ended up with tiny holes in it, but don't recall.

Any idea on whose story that is?

Also, what do you think about having a mirror face on the vampire card at the end for the obvious gag about "if you look closely you can see their face"?

Hi Jonathon, no, my first point of call was simply a Google search just now. I vaguely recall a dealer ad in the past several years so think it is/was a marketed effect, but could also be someone's own idea on vampires.

Not sure on the mirror bit, because vampires have no reflection.
Another way of doing the effect may be Sam Schwartz's "Twisting The Faces" handling.

Hopefully now the thread is under way, someone will come forward with the originator.

This effect has been marketed with different colored pictures and story line. For e.g.
a. A hunter chasing the rabbits
b. Rabbits escaping the fox who want them for dinner

The origin is never mentioned.

If anybody is aware of the inventor's name please post it in the forum.

Came across the following information.

Karl Fulves offering called the Vampire Chronicles, a "collection of offbeat card tricks based on vampire themes," which originally came in a deluxe version with special cards (the "Vampire Activity Kit").
