I need help with Refrences!

Postby Guest » April 22nd, 2002, 3:08 pm

Anyone to credit for:

- Twisting the Aces - where the cards change into another four of a kind

- Triumph - with a stranger card

- Jazz Aces where the four cards change into another four of a kind

- All backs routine

- What's the move called when you have some cards in your right hand with a
thumb break above the bottom card, then you outjog a card from the left hand
packet and drop the card below the break as your left hand does a wrist kill (used in ambitious card)

- Outjog four cards, then push the lowermost card back in with your left
index finger as your right hand strips out the other three as four.

- Estimation Aces is a Marlo Plot but who used it as a plot that used a competition type patter line for its presentation?
John Carney or Derek Dingle!

- What about the old winding the deck of Playing Cards GAG.

If anyone can help it would be greatly apreciated!

Thanks,
Rick

The Twisting effect looks like the trick called Revolution by John Bannon.
All backs routine is a trick by Dai Vernon that you can find in Expert Card Technique.
The first technique you have described looks like Marlo's "For the Unambitious" Kabbala, Vol.1 N2.

Hoping it helps,

Thanks Noel!
I got some info on all backs routine!
R.W. Hull originated the plot and Vernon is responsible for the display of peeling off individual cards! Thanks for the help!

See "The Magical Record and Thoughts of Wesley James" for the background on Wesley's great move.

The sleight you reference is known by several titles and it is unclear who is actually the originator. It has been published as "Coming Up in the World" by Wesley James in one of the Garcia books. It also appeared (earlier, I think) under the title "Super Rise" in Pallbearers Review.
The Marlo handling appeared AFTER these.

Richard, thank you for the Pallbearers "Super Rise" reference. I'll check it out.
