Published back in 1980, the book "Richard Himber - The Man and His Magic", has been on my list of things to purchase for about the last ten years!
For those of you who are familiar with the book.....any comments?
I vaguely recall reading a review that referred to the book's production values as being attrocius.

Re: Richard Himber - The Man and His Magic
Hi John
If you were to flick through the book, it looks like a collection of photocopies. That's because it is a collection of photocopies - Himber instructions, articles and magazine tricks, etc. There's no research - just collection.
However, it's a book I return to often and I recommend it. Despite the cheap production, having the original Himber texts does create a unique experience.
Best Wishes
Peter

Hello Chief Genii, Richard:
I don't think the above mentioned "Richard Himber Genii issue" ever materialized...I sure hope that it does someday.
I am a great admirer of Dick Himber, and look forward to a tribute issue...perhaps on the 50th anniversary of his death (2016)?
The very few people in magic that actually called Himber a good guy & friend - aren't getting any younger. (James Randi, Harry Lorayne, etc.)...
I would love to hear their tributes too - to offset all of the negative things that have always been written about Mr. Himber.

No, the Himber issue never appeared, and it was based on my having access to Bill King's collection which was by far the most complete. Things just got away from me and I never made the trips to Bill's home to take the necessary photos and do the research. But, via the magic of the Genii Archive, you can read a lot about Himber!
As for the existing Himber book, it's a piece of crap published by Magico.
