So, had I actually read the entire thread instead of just the last few entries, I surely would have seen Dustin's note about the initial print count. To say that I skimmed the thread before posting would be an insult to actual thread skimmers.

This one looks-like a good deal. You get the big magic book and the smaller edition of the circus book for $269.00.

And why is that a good deal when you can buy the big book on its own for $126 on amazon? The small version contains nothing that is not in the larger version--it's an excerpt. Who cares?

I saw that smaller edition circus book at Barnes & Noble for under $20 the other day.

Please don't kill the messenger. He's a very nice guy. :)

If you see smaller edition of the magic book that B&N sells, please let me know.

Here's a new low price for the book. The aeller has almost 5,000 neutral and negatives VS 750,000 positives.

Looks like Taschen will be doing a book on DC comics:

Taschen also has done a huge book on animated Disney films -- The Walt Disney Film Archives: The Animated Movies 1921-1968 (18.8 x 2.5 x 12.8 inches, 15 lbs).

Amazon currently has it on sale for $68. List price is $200.

Note that MIMC Brian Sibley is one of the authors.

Brian is a noted Disney historian and has also appeared in supplements on classic Disney DVDs and blu-rays.

I noticed they have a new edition of the Magic history on the website for $69.99

https://www.taschen.com/pages/en/catalogue/popculture/all/44810/facts.magic_1400s1950s.htm

It does list at about 100 fewer pages than the original. I couldn't find any mention of what the difference in content was.

That appears to be the edition that came out in July 2013. Here's the Amazon listing:
https://www.amazon.com/Magic-1400s-1950 ... 383652807X

Barnes & Noble carries a 2015 edition (no slipcase and reduced page count: all the chapter text is there, but some of the image only pages are removed) at the incredible bargain of just $17.98!
http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/magic-m ... 3836523097
They offer free shipping if you order more the $25, so order two and give one to a friend!

The three prior editions:

1) 2009, 650 pages, 17.3 x 11.4 inches
2) 2013, 544 pages, 15.75 x 10.5 inches
3) 2015, 384 pages, 13.3 x 8.8 inches

Page count here matches the second edition.

15 x 9.9 appears slightly reduced, but the measurement discrepancy may well be book vs. slipcase.

Looks like a reprint of the second edition.

OMG! Just received the Disney book. Unpacking was a two-person job. Humongous but beautiful. Comes with a carrying box with handle. Where or where am I going to keep this?

You could sleep on it if you like a firm mattress.
