Early Assembly

Postby ed rhodes » November 18th, 2015, 12:42 pm

I have years of Genii magazines to go through. I'm trying to find a specific trick in which you lay out three sets of four cards with one of the three aces in each pile. You put the Ace of Hearts below the three piles and with a wave, the other three aces have joined the Ace of Hearts and the three piles now only have three cards each.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? Thanks in advance.

I think that's Ed Marlo's "Real Gone Aces." There are so many permutations of the Ace Assembly that I can't remember them all. Marlo had many using various numbers of cards.

IT IS "Real Gone Aces" by Ed Marlo and you can find the original in New Phoenix no 338, april 1956, page 160.

That's a possibility, but I've never read the New Phoenix. I know I read this trick. I THINK I read it in Genii and I THINK it was called "Early Assembly." I have boxes of Genii's going back some time and I'd like to try and find this particular trick again.

If it was in MAGIC, then of course, you guys can't help me. But I really believe I read it in Genii.

Well, thanks for trying.

No Early Assembly in GENII, MAGIC and Ask Alexander!

Do you remember the contributor/creator?

Are you sure the adjective that precedes Assembly?

Ed, can you narrow it down by time frame? Searching for ace assembly in Genii in MKB I find a number of possible routines. One for example is by Bruce Cervon called "Award Ace Assembly" in the May 1990 Genii.

Ed: Also, was it gaffed or ungaffed?
