EMHC - 7th European Magic History Conference

Postby Marco Pusterla » July 4th, 2017, 1:20 pm

For any magician interested in the history of our craft, or any collector of magic memorabilia, the next appointment on the subject is the European Magic History Conference (EMHC), held in Turin, Italy, from August 24 to 26.

The Conference will host:
  • 20 different speakers, from all over Europe, revealing the results of their research on the history of magic and magicians of the past
  • 3 different magic shows, from close-up to stage magic, with some of the best Italian and Spanish performers
  • 2 dinners included in the registration
  • Programme for partners
  • Exclusive visit to the Cinema Museum to witness the transition between live magic and cinema
  • Antiquarian Magic Dealers
  • Magic Museum
  • ... and more!

This year, we will honour two of the greatest mystery performers from Italy, stars of magic known all over the world: Arturo Brachetti and Silvan will be our guests of honour, sharing with the attendees their lifetime experience in creating magic and being super-stars of light entertainment.

The event will be held at the new headquarters of the Circolo Amici della Magia di Torino, a purpose-built venue with its own theatre, large rooms for dealers, bar and (as it is Summer...) air conditioning.

Registration price is still only €250 (about $280) and places are limited: more than half have already been filled.

You can get more information on http://emhc2017.com and please check out the old newsletters (seven, so far) and register for the next two, as they contain plenty more information.

If you are interested in the history of magic, you should not miss this event!

Hope to see you in Torino, Italy!

The latest newsletter of the European Magic History Conference is now out! If you haven't received it, you can find it here.

In this issue, we announce three new speakers:
  • Magic Christian - on Valentino Graziadei, King of Cards
  • Riccardo Rampini - on Hieronimo Scotto, Renaissance Conjurer
  • Fl!p - on the iconography of The Trickster

We then spell out the Partners' Program and, in our sidebar on important Italian magicians of the past, we meet Ranieri Bustelli, whose important collection will be on display at the Conference.

We have now announced almost all the speakers (see the program on the website) and the last four will be announced next month.

Places are filling up quickly: if you are thinking to attend, do not hesitate, as we only have a few places left.

The European Magic History Conference will be held in Turin, Italy, August 24-26. More details and registration: http://emhc2017.com/

Only one week to the opening of the 7th European Magic History Conference in Turin, Italy. All 20 speakers have now been announced, the full cast of the 3 gala shows has been revealed and we are hard at work to complete the finishing touches to what looks like it's going to be an exciting event for all lovers of the history of magic, and for magic collectors worldwide.

The latest newsletter is now out, with some more information and an "executive summary" of the program. The official language of the Conference is English (as we have received some questions).

Only a handful of places is still available: don't miss this great event!
