TeleFoto

Postby mrgoat » June 17th, 2013, 9:38 am

In short: buy it

In long: Fancied a ProMystic die but didn't want to stump out the cash? Now you can have a similar thing for a few bucks! I'm a fan of the dev's previous app, iForce, but this is something else. The spec has no idea your iphone is being used.

You ask them to take out their smart phone/tablet/laptop and go to a URL. It displays pictures they can swipe through. They choose one and look at it. You instantly know which one they are looking at.

It's bloody brilliant. Starts with 'easy' which is 5 ESP cards. Goes on to 'hard' which isn't that hard and has 20 or so images. You can even create your own custom photos of anything you want and upload them to your own unique gallery. Ultimate customisation.

You can also do it over the phone, an amazing remote effect.

I'm going to make a custom gallery of porn pictures! :D

VERY VERY CLEVER. Buy it.

I just picked this up yesterday, it's very clever and hugely customisable.

Wow, I read the reviews and they only touched the tip of this iceberg. This is the coolest idea yet that happens not only on someone else's smartphone, but can be done remotely by a client on their computer or smartphone while you are sitting at home!

I love iForce so I knew this would be worth the money. I say just buy it before it goes up another 20 bucks (which will still be a good deal for an awesome app) on July 1st.

I hate to ask this, but will the app still work if the developer goes out of business?

That is, does it depend on the existence of a proprietary website to work?

Thank you all for your kind words and support of teleFoto.

Hi erdnasephile ,

The cost of maintaining the service is so low that I don't think I'll ever stop supporting it.

If you have any further questions about teleFoto, please don't hesitate to ask.

all the best,
Greg Rostami

P.S. Here's the video for teleFoto. If you want to skip to the performances, just "Click to see performances" at the bottom of the video.

Greg, is there an exit strategy in place for when someone offers you a metric ton of cash for exclusive use?

Thats already happened to me once, and while I wouldn't blame you if you took such a deal, I'd like to know you would have a buy back plan or something.

Hi Bill,

All of the big names in magic (including DC) already know about teleFoto.
They knew about teleFoto long before it was released.

Nobody wants an exclusive . . . I asked them before I released it. They're not interested.
All the big guys already have technology tricks that they are happy with.

I also think that the big guys are very sensitive about what happened to James Mattox and all of his Email Wizard customers.

I doubt an "Email Wizard" scenario is ever gonna happen again.

I have this app (and also another of Greg's smart phone apps, iForce), and if you take a look at the threads on the other forum you'll see how Greg responds to questions and issues posted. His service and support are both surprisingly and refreshingly fast and excellent. He has added several features based solely on forum requests, and he does this immediately.

I really wish that more developers of magic effects and/or apps treated customers as well - and respectfully - as Greg. In this day of magic sales and marketing Greg is much more than a breath of fresh air!

Just to clarify in case anyone wonders, other than having purchased a few of Greg's apps, I have no connection with Greg, professionally, personally, or financially.

Thank you.

Jim

Hi Greg,

I just purchased telefoto, but I thought you would like to know that i ran scross a problem when trying to buy telefoto from: www.rostamimagic.com/apps/telefoto/

When I first went to to your website I was using google chrome on my iPad. When I clicked on the "iTunes" I was redirected to the itunes website and all I saw was raw HTML code.

I had no problem using safari.

Good luck,

Bob

Hi Bob,

Thank you very much for making me aware of this.
It's a strange problem, but I'll look into a solution.

For those of you who haven't seen KC Cameron's amazing teleFoto Extension pack:

Photos on a iPhone don't smell unless you've got an overactive imagination.

One of the reviews on the App Store seems to say its possible to use your own domain, is that right?
