The Magic Show: Silly Billy and the Secret Present

As Silly Billy performs a funny magic show he collects clues that help him discover what present he got for his birthday.

Silly Billy performs a highly interactive comedy magic show in which the children laugh from his very first words to the very end of the show. Wearing his jumbo-sized glasses and no clown makeup he combines a hilarious magic show with outrageous balloon twisting. Silly Billy performs magic, but he is actually a comedian for kids, using the magic as the medium for the comedy. He appeals to all children, including the very young, as well as adults. To children, Silly Billy is very silly, and occasionally even mischievous. Adults like him for his sharp, intelligent wit.

Lecture: Learn how to use child psychology techniques to make the kids love you and want to see you again and again! If you do kid shows or are just starting out, you must attend this lecture.

What you will learn will result in repeat bookings many times over. Even if you don’t do kid shows this lecture is funny and entertaining and you will be able to apply his theories to your style of magic.

This is not just a theory lecture. David will also be performing and teaching some of his commercial classics as well as some wonderful routines that you can put together and perform without having to purchase any special apparatus. This is truly a lecture not to be missed!

Who is Silly Billy?

Silly Billy has performed magic and comedy for children for more than twenty years. He has been named New York’s top children’s entertainer by five different NYC publications as well as receiving a six-page profile in the New Yorker. He has performed at the White House, Lincoln Center, and has appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman. In April 2014 David was awarded a Performing Fellowship from the Academy of Magical Arts, in Hollywood, California, the highest honor a magician can receive. He presents himself to the children as a clown who performs magic, but in fact he is really a Comedian For Kids.

Known to the public as Silly Billy, he has performed at the White House and Lincoln Center. In 2014, David was honored to receive the Performing Fellowship Award from the Academy of Magical Arts (The Magic Castle). Other magicians who have received this award include Juan Tamariz and Johnny Thompson. David is the only children’s magician in history to receive this honor.

David has appeared on the covers of seven international magic magazines; he wrote a monthly column in MAGIC magazine for eight years; and starred on the magic TV show Celebracadabra. David is currently a columnist for Genii. He may be best known for his groundbreaking book, Seriously Silly - How to Perform Magic and Comedy for Children, considered by many to be the bible for children’s magic. He just released his second book, Super Sized Silly.
