Saturday at Reubens

I know that Reuben's closed down in NYC. Therefore, obviously, Saturday afternoons at Reubens have stopped. Has this moved? If so where to? I'll be in NYC Augusr 4 - 12th. Anything else (other than Monday Night Magic)?
Thanks for any info.

More specifically, the pizza place is on 35th, between 5th and 6th. Maui Taco is on 6th, between 33rd and 34th (I believe -- I don't go there often).

Tannen's is also on 34th, between 5th and 6th, and Fantasma is on the corner of 33rd and 7th.

You mentioned Monday Night Magic already, but there's also Steve Cohen's show on Friday nights and Simon Lovell's show on Saturday nights.

You might also be interested in checking the Conjuring Arts Research Center.

That covers just about everything, I think. If I missed something, I'm sure someone will come in and add it to the list.

Definately make it to Maui. I went there a few years ago, mentioned I liked cards and Vernon, was introduced to Ken Krezel who proceeded to do about a 15 minute show just for me.

Wonderful, wonderful stuff.

And MNM is a must.

Thanks

There's generally people at the pizza place until at least 6. That's when I usually head home, so I can't say how long they tend to hang around after that, but I don't think it's much later.

The correct address of Maui Taco is:
330 5th Aveune
between 32 Street and 33 Street on 5th Ave. Not as stated earlier by someone.
Magicians start arriving there at 2pm. The management allows them a private room downstairs to the left as you enter.

Well pointed out. When I went there I wandered around for a while looking for 'magiciany' people only to find none. Went out side and waiting for a half hour. Went back, and asked a waiter. He told me everyone was downstairs!

D'oh!

The Pizza Place and Maui Taco at great on Saturdays. On Fridays at 12:30 the Magic Table still meets at the Edison Cafe on 47th Street of 7th Avenue in Times Square in Manhattan. The last weeks we have had 10 or so magicians sharing lunch and magic.

Sam Schwartz came twice in August. I host the Table every Friday and all magicians are welcome.

I think the move from Reuben's to Maui Taco was written up in the New Yorker a year or so ago.

The name of the place is the Regina Pizzeria. It's about two doors down from a parking garage on 35th St. Between 5th and 6th Avenues. A good group usually meets there. Sol Stone, Wes James among them. EVERY Saturday until around 2 or so. Some hang a little longer if there's a good discussion but others tend to mozy over to the Maui Taco on 5th Avenue next to the Burger King between 33rd St. and 32nd. The action is downstairs. The upstairs crowd are actually there for Tacos-hawaiian style. (Quite good by the way.)

Really? The Green awning and sign said "Cafe Rustico II" last time I was there.

I think Peter must have been reading the inspection certificate on the wall.
