At last! Some lodging news and more in the mail out from Michael Baker.

"Hello magicians!

I would like to personally invite each and every one of you to attend SEAM 2006, August 3-5, at the Hilton Perimeter Park South Hotel in Birmingham, Alabama! This year, the convention is bigger and better than ever!

The Southeastern Association of Magicians Convention Committee for 2006 is really excited about all that's in store, and is sure that you will find this to be one of the best regional conventions around! We have an excellent schedule of events planned, including:

* Stage & close-up shows
* Dealers
* Contests
* Lectures & workshops
* Raffles & some other fun surprises.

The convention is actually larger this year. We have expanded SEAM 2006 to 2 1/2 days, with events beginning as early as 3:00 PM on Thursday. We currently have over a dozen acts booked, including:

* Justin Miller
* Joseph Young
* David Ginn
* Eric Evans
* Christian Compton
* Paul Sponaugle
* Bill Pitts
* Justin David
* Bruce Walstad
* Ruth Pitts
* Darrell Osborn
* Bob Sanders
* Dakota Rose
*Jamie Sellers

We have 7 Lecture/Workshop/Seminars planned, covering everything including, innovative close-up, stand-up, kids' magic, ropes, crooked carnival games & cons, magic collecting, and a few things even I don't know about yet! We are even working on adding a separate private workshop with Eric Evans for Sunday morning.

We have no less than half a dozen dealers, a dealer's show, and contests for stage (adult and youth) and close-up. There are two big stage shows, and one close-up show. We are having a late night open mic session after the Thursday evening lecture, and several raffles, including a couple of pristine vintage John Calvert Magic Sets! There are also a couple of surprises that we have not announced!

The Hilton Perimeter Park Hotel is offering a special SEAM rate of only $85.00 single or double, if you reserve your room by July 15th!

The hotel is located in one of Birmingham's best areas for restaurants and shopping, with very easy interstate access. Birmingham has many area attractions, so this is a great convention to bring your family to... even if they don't want to see all the magic! The Birmingham Convention & Visitors Bureau is working closely with us to supply information to all the registrants about all that Birmingham has to offer!

We are an easy drive for anyone in Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, and of course, Alabama! Of course, that doesn't mean we are restricted to people only in those states! Anyone, from anywhere is welcome to attend, and we'd love to have you!

You'll find great incentive packages for early registration! Register early (by June 1st) and you will get the lowest rate of $75.00. Plus, you will get FREE REGISTRATION for your spouse or one youth!! These combined perks will give you a savings of $60.00!! That's huge!! Plus you get free chances in the drawings for the John Calvert Magic Sets! The registrations are already coming in. You'll want to get in early for the best deal!

Check the website, www.seam2006.com for more information, hotel contacts and rates, registration forms that you can download, and contest rules & entry forms. Mail out flyers will be available to those who need them, and a package will be sent to all area Rings and magic clubs.

Feel free to contact anyone on the Convention Committee listed below, if you have any questions. We are here to help! SEAM 2006 is bigger and better than ever! See you here in Birmingham this August!

Best Regards,

~michael

Just a note about Hilton rates for the SEAM 2006 Convention: July 15th is the last day to get convention rates for the room. I understand that the difference is about $25/night.

This is going to be a very good one!
