El Manuscrito in English

Postby Ted M » January 25th, 2016, 10:37 am

I subscribed to El Manuscrito in English in 2013 and 2014, and received issues #21-26. (2014 ended without #27 or 28 being produced in English.)

Does anyone know whether further issues have been translated into English?

(My success in contacting grupokaps about this has been very limited.)

I had a similar experience after subscribing in Summer of 2014. I eventually gave up as multiple communication attempts failed.

Please let us know if you find out anything.

I gave up, as well. It was fun while it lasted.

There was also a partial "special" issue in English, featuring Juan Tamariz, but that preceded issues 21 - 26.

I know that Conjuring Arts sells some English (and Spanish) El Manuscritos.

They've stopped publishing the English version.

Their website has a new customer service ticket system.

After logging in, I was able to find my 2014 El Manuscrito purchase record and open a customer service ticket.

I very politely inquired about status of the English version, the outlook for issues 27-28 on my subscription and any beyond that, etc, and was offered some other digital products as compensation.

It took a bit of time, but I feel satisfied with the eventual outcome.

It's a pity not to be able to share ideas because of the language problems.
Anyway, I don't know if the number 18 of El Manuscritos was ever translated into english, but I would recommend eagerly, specially for the card magic lovers, certain routine from that issue:
The José Carroll's Edward Victor's 11 card trick version. It's a great routine with an owesome kicker. Fortunately the issue was followed by a supplementary vid in which you can see José itself performing it.
The vid is in Spanish, but if you know the original routine you can follow this great version in the universal language of magic.
By the way, that issue was a tribute to José Carroll.
If you are intetested in the vid but don't understand it well enough, I can write down here for you with pleasure a description in English about that performances.

Carroll's presentation has always been my favorite version of the Eleven Card Trick. It's the only one I tried out. It has so many funny moments! I've seen performances videos of it, but I don't think that one was among them, so thanks for the link.

You're very welcome!
Some interesting vids in youtube are quite difficult to find because of its title or name in diferent languages and other reasons, so I'm glad to help to find some and link here.
