I love him; a terrific actor. His role as Monsieur Labisse, the bookshop owner in "Hugo," was a small one, but his was a lovely performance; one of my favorite characters in the movie.

I heard a piece about him on the radio yesterday. Talking to his niece a few months ago he complained that he hadn't worked for a week. A compliment he treasured was to be called, "A malignant hero."
