New Yorkers may find this interesting. The organizer, Mariano Tomatis, is a magician.

They have a YouTube account. It's too bad they don't post a video of one of the books as a teaser and embed it in the linked page.

Thank you Bill, the book trailer is in Italian only, but "visual" enough to provide a good idea of the topic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EccKFztBhj8

For those who couldn't attend the lecture show, here is the full script with slides:

It just misses the magic tricks I performed live.

Mariano, what a wonderful talk, thanks for posting it online. The current issue of the Yale Alumni Magazine has an article about the volvelles in their collection that might be of interest. You can read it here: https://www.yalealumnimagazine.com/arti ... e-volvelle

Mariano:

That was truly a wonderful experience. I am sorry I wasn't able to attend the lecture, but sharing your presentation online is generous beyond words. I was truly astonished and filled with joy by not only the scholarship, but also the beauty of the slideshow, the reflection of your deep passion for the subject and the pull to action it inspired. Spectacular!

Thanks so much!

Andrew

all the 32 panels both in English and Italian language (just scroll the page and click on each thumbnail).

Sorry I missed it. Looks like it was a very interesting talk.

Were actual books on display as well? Have seen some really cool old items referenced in the talk at the Conjuring Arts Research Center. Some of the old Italian conjuring and mentalism books are really brilliant...

Yes, they were - both original books and replicas. I am preparing a complete online catalogue with photos and relevant links.
