WikiMindMap for MagicPedia

Postby Joe Pecore » November 24th, 2008, 9:45 am

I found a tool called WikiMindMap which allows you to easily browse a wiki.

I configured it for MagicPedia here: http://jpecore.heliohost.org/p2_Binary/ServerScripts/

Take a look and let me know what you think. If useful, I'll give to WebMaster Brad to see if he can host it on MagicPedia.

Overview:
Type the name of a topic (that is hopefully in MagicPedia) in the box at the top and a diagram will be displayed.
*Topic groups can be opend by a click on the little plus sign in the group box.
*Clicking on the text will pop up the corresponding MagicPedia article page.
*Clicking on a green arrows (that are going around in a circle) will bring the related topic to the center and make it the main topic.

I find it a fun way to browse MagicPedia.
The server it's on is a freebie, so be patient.

Joe, you're very helpful when it comes to providing links when someone needs one and contribute a lot to magicpedia. Just thought I'd say thank you.

David

What do you mean Philippe? I don't think I've modified it since I installed it. It does seem to go down quite a bit, but that's because of the free server I'm hosting it on.

It's because sometime, the link doesn't work and also you have written : "I'll give to WebMaster Brad to see if he can host it on MagicPedia".

It will be better to have the link on MagicPedia.

You were the only one that said it was useful so far.

I didn't want to bother Brad with it (I know he is extremely busy), if only you and me thought it was cool ;-)

As I've shown, it does not have to be on the same server as MagicPedia. So .... if someone else has a better server in the mean time, let me know. It's only a few PHP scripts.
