Bruno Copin is fairly well known around Europe, being a regular performer at many conventions, either as a lecturer/artist or in the various competitions. He published many years ago (I think in the early nineties) a number of booklets describing his act and his techniques with the thread, but they were in French - as far as I understand.

I'm not sure if he even published VHS/DVD in French, but I think it may be likely he did.

I had the pleasure of seeing him work numerous times and I always appreciated the way he handles thread and the offbeat effects he creates.

Has anyone seen the "Friends" DVD's (or his other dvds for that matter). I was interested in them, but I was wondering how much of the material uses thread. One item sold seperately stated that it used his "favorite gimmick" and I noticed Hocus-pocus was also selling his thread reel. Just trying to figure out if the DVD's are worth the price (about $150 a piece) without purchasing his thread system.

I don't remember seeing this routine, but after seeing Mr. Copin perform for the past 10 years or so, I can't be sure I've seen it or not :(

About the quantity of material that uses thread: Mr. Copin is well known for his use of thread, for his original hooks and for the innovative use of thread in his acts. I would expect most, if not all the material he divulges, uses thread. His routines are theatrical pieces, often performed with music, in which everything is carefully planned (I can remember only once seeing a thread break during Mr. Copin's work, but he had ready a replacement to conclude the routine!)

I haven't seen these DVDs so I cannot comment on them, nor endorse them: I simply admire the work of Bruno Copin...

Hi,
i too noticed Mr.Copin Dvd's on Hocus Pocus.
And me too wondered why this very unusual and high price.
Some of you happen to know if the price is justified by the fact that the Dvd are released in a limited edition?
Or maybe because they contain some gimmicks and material.
