Here is an interesting gadget I stumbled upon. It creates a cascading, dry-fog "screen" onto which images are projected. There is a waterfall appearance to the image, and because you can walk through the fog you can create turbulence patterns within the image.

There are three video clips including one by a mime actor named Markku Laitinen who used the screen in a performance piece.
This kind of thing might inspire some interesting stage magic presentations.
