Mark Evanier has posted a video of clown/comedian Chaz Chase. He did more or less the same act from 1925 to 1983. Fans of Tom Mullica and Bill Irwin may see an influence, or at least a predescessor, here.

Looks like parts of Jim Carazini's act was appropriated from Chaz Chase.

My dad said Chase had edible shirt fronts made. He worked with him.

I didn't learn anything magical, but I DID learn the names of the two Looney Tunes songs. Didn't even know they had names.

I thought shirt front was the original use for flat, white, unleavened bread.
