Why am I providing these forums free of charge?

A bit about myself.

I make a living as a computer professional and have been a card magic devotee for the last quarter of a century.

Setting up these forums is a way for me to combine my interests and offer something fun for my fellow card enthusiasts. It's my pleasure to offer use of these forums free of charge to adults (over 18 only please) who have a serious interest in discussing card magic.

Response to the new forums as been quite gratifying and I have our new members to thank for that. :)

For now, I'm the only moderator/admin on the forums, so it might take 12-24 hours for me to activate your account on the forums.

I appreciate your patience and hope you enjoy the new forums.

Thanks for the kind words. I will be offering the ability to choose an alternative "look" to the forums for those that don't care for the default "Aqua" look. Just haven't decided which additional theme (or themes) I'm going to add yet. When I do, simply check your "profile" and you'll be able to select an an alternative when I make them available. (probably in the next day or so)

Just wanted to say that I am impressed with what you have offered! It looks like it will be great site and I for one already (after only about 15 minutes with it) appreciate all the hard work you have put into this endeavor. Here;s hoping for great success!

Thanks, I really do appreciate the the constructive criticism. Though I've worked hard to set it up as it it, I doubtless will tweak it as time goes by. :)

Though it took a few days more than I thought it would, I wanted to let you know that I've got the "alternative look" for the forum up and running. If you're a registered user, simply go to your profile page and choose the "bluegreen" theme. I think you might like it. Very easy on the eyes. :)

I finally got round to registering, and just wanted to say after a quick browse that it looks great. There are many topics I'd love to contribute to, but I don't want to flood the forum and have people wondering "Who the heck is this guy?".

The layout and design seem fine to me. My only comment would be that the "New posts" and "No new posts" icons are not very easily distinguishable.

Great suggestion. I'll probably brighten the indicators that are there or perhaps replace them with something completely new and more visible. Thanks for the feeback and I hope you continue to enjoy the forums.
