The Australian War Memorial in Canberra has a photographic archive which many researchers in the USA and UK have overlooked.
The dummy WW1 tanks built by Aussie engineers for the Western Front in 1918 look impressive.

I heard some army hid soldiers in a wooden horse before apparently retreating from the city under siege. The horse was just larger than the city gates... was in an old book.
