Low status of magicians?

Discussions of new films, books, television shows, and media indirectly related to magic and magicians. For example, there may be a book on mnemonics or theatrical technique we should know or at least know about.

Low status of magicians?

Postby Richard Stokes » October 12th, 2016, 7:07 am

Everyone must be aware of the growing Creepy Clowns crisis.
Netflix chat show host Chelsea Handler warned us that genuine clowns need to be protected.

She rephrased a famous poem by concentration camp survivor Martin Niemöller.

The original poem went:

"First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me."

Chelsea altered the words:

"First they came for the clowns, and no-one spoke out.
Then they came for the mimes, and they couldn't speak out.
Then they came for the magicians, and nobody gave a sxxt..."
