Odd One Out Puzzle

Discussions of new films, books, television shows, and media indirectly related to magic and magicians. For example, there may be a book on mnemonics or theatrical technique we should know or at least know about.

Odd One Out Puzzle

Postby Richard Stokes » September 21st, 2016, 2:49 pm

Alex Bellos writes very interesting books on numbers and puzzles.

He gave a talk at Woolsthorpe Manor, Lincolnshire, as part of the Gravity Fields Festival.

The Manor was the birthplace and home of Isaac Newton, and happens to be only 20 mts drive from where I live.

Five simple images. Which is the odd one out?

Puzzle your way through each image. Don't cheat.

At first, you might find yourself debating whether there is a clear cut answer. Eventually you'll go 'Aha!' and get the solution.

Ian got it right.

I really liked this puzzle.

Here's one to torture you:

What the hell does this sequence of numbers mean?

11111111111111111111113111

It looks impossible, but it can be solved and you will remember the exact sequence for the rest of your life...because you already know it.

Yes, Jack worked the number sequence out. And Ian is very close.
This is a tough one.
