I've reviewed the first episode of the new TV series Houdini & Doyle on my blog here:

I'll review the rest of the episodes (10 total) as they air on FOX starting May 2.

Looks dreadful.

Reminds me of "Shake 'n' Bake", the SCTV sketch about the swashbuckling derring-do adventures of William Shakespeare and Francis Bacon. Which, um, never actually happened. Same as like Houdini & Doyle solving crimes together.

Should have just gone for straight out no BS fiction, with Houdini & Holmes. Probably marginally more audience appeal too.

PS - The original line is "I don't have to outrun the bear. I just have to outrun you." That line is (darkly) clever. The quoted version ....
