Hilarious! Probably the only trick the Orangutan would like better than that vanish would be a production - of a banana, that is (perhaps followed up by the multiplying bananas). Now that would be an aPEELing routine! Pause - - for collective groans.

There are also videos on YouTube with dogs as magic specs. The difference there though is that the dogs seem to be distressed at the disruption of expectation; here the orangutan laughs. What a wonderful lesson in coping mechanisms and the meaning of laughter when confronted by surprise.

I don't believe, short of a controlled trial with multiple orangutans over a period of time with many repetitions, that there is any way to prove that the reaction is related to the "trick" aspect.
