This film, with a screenplay by Paul Harris, is described in Magicpedia as 'abysmal'. I was present when Paul was asked about his screenplay; he was so embarrassed by it he refused to name the film.
I like it. I've watched it several times.
Am I a lone idiot?

The title in itself, I feel, gives a reasonable indication of the likely quality.

Re: Nice Girls Don't Explode
Thanks, AJM; but my question was really directed to people who have actually seen the thing; I thought that was obvious, but apparently not.
A great site for rubbish titles is http://www.film.com/movies/worst-movie-titles
It includes My Left Foot, which I think is a great film. (Curiously, Nice Girls Don't Explode isn't on this list)
But, yes, there is probably a relationship between poor title and poor film.

I saw the film. It is truly awful in every way, and Paul is a close friend of mine so I feel like crap in saying that.

Paul briefly talks about the experience with making / writing the movie in the article that Eric Mead wrote about Paul Harris in 2007.
The article is fantastic.

I couldn't give a toss what you thought quite frankly EM but thanks for sharing anyway.

I managed just over 5 minutes - I'm sure the esteemed members of the Academy didn't lose any sleep over this one...

I actually rented this thing on VHS many years ago. Yet another reason to be suspicious of "Paul Harris Presents!"

I don't see that the movie is related to "Paul Harris Presents" magic effects.

And in retrospect, I think the movie Nice Girls Don't Fart would have been much better in so many ways.

That's funny, I did a little research and found quite a few positive reviews. It seems to be a product of it's time. The 80's.

Positive reviews? I must have missed those. It didn't even get a theatrical release.
