The Prestige - apparently a documentary

Discussions of new films, books, television shows, and media indirectly related to magic and magicians. For example, there may be a book on mnemonics or theatrical technique we should know or at least know about.

The Prestige - apparently a documentary

Postby Brad Henderson » January 29th, 2015, 12:27 am

A writer has based his work on the magic 'theory' espoused in the story/movie The Prestige.

Does he believe that's how magic really works?

Does it matter?

"Peter Rollins knows one magic trick—now, make sure you watch closely. It has three parts: the Pledge, the Turn, and the Prestige. In Divine Magician, each part comes into play as he explores a radical view of interacting with the world in love. "

From his site about the book launch event:
live music and close-up magic and the launch of a speciality Lenten beer lovingly crafted by New Testament scholar turned Brew Master Henry Nguyen (the first one’s on us).

And, as if that wasn’t enough, anyone who’s around the night before can come out for pre-game drinks.

Christopher Priest as inspiration for Faith based authors... interesting.
