Adult Magic... Hogwarts coat-tails style book for Adults

Discussions of new films, books, television shows, and media indirectly related to magic and magicians. For example, there may be a book on mnemonics or theatrical technique we should know or at least know about.

Speaking of coat-tails...

I've been reading a new children's book that features a character of a magician. It reminded me of stories I read when I was younger (pre-Harry Potter) that reinforced my interest in magic. Specifically, A House with a Clock in its Walls by John Bellairs was a particular favorite. Anyone else have similar fond memories?

Now that the original Harry Potter kids are adults, I've always wanted to go to a crowded place and yell out Expecto Patronum just to see what kind of reaction it would produce. And I wonder if those same adults are now more receptive to the performance of magic since, for many of them, it was such an important part of their childhood.

Yep, I enjoyed those Bellairs books as well. I don't remember the protagonist's name, but I have strong memories of Mrs Zimmerman in purple and Jonathan the warlock.
