It's a good doc -- Teller plays it fairly straight in terms of documenting Tim Jenison's quest to replicate a Vermeer and prove the possibility of an optical method in his painting. There's not really any of the usual P&T anarchic humor, but none is needed. The story itself is fascinating, and by telling it in depth the human element -- Jenison's own superhuman powers of endurance, and the driving nature of his obsession -- becomes the driving factor.
