I was just watching this promo for a new superhero show premiering this Sunday on NBC. The hero is trained by a weird circus troupe.

At 1:12, you can see the name of the troupe: "Max Malini's Fantastic Oddities and Amazements"

A random coinkydink or does the creator (Tom Wheeler) have a secret alter ego that is a magician?

P.S. Hey, lets see how I do with that mentalism stuff...I getting a feeling that Jonathan Townsend will be the first to respond to this post. (Unless he decides to hang back just to make me look wrong. ;) )

So, what do you think of Max Malini on the show?

I was disappointed that he didn't make a block of ice appear and his accent was nothing like I'd been lead to believe.

Actually, I thought it wasn't bad for an original superhero gig. Believable in a comic/graphic novel way. We'll see if it has legs and can maintain the quality.

Looks like The Cape is about to do a vanishing act. :( Guess we're back to The Event on Mondays.

The show was execrable. It's amazing that it made it past the pilot phase.

Maybe it should just have been called ... (wait for it!) ... "The Crap."

That's coming very soon by way of a new series called Precinct 17 and perhaps Kevin Sorbo's movie Paradox.

On the good side - The Adjustment Bureau is supposed to be okay.

The cast and crew came into my show at the Castle in January. Jennifer Ferrin was delightful, but I had the following conversation with Summer Glau (who I did not recognise until after the show):

Me: Hi, what's your name?
Summer: <looks behind her, puzzled>
Me: you're in the back row, there's no one behind you :)
Summer: My name's Summer
Me: Are you from Georgia as well?
Summer: No, I'm from Texas
Me: Summer, so you were born in November then?
Summer: <deadpan> No, I was born in July...

It's way better with a strong Texas accent...
