Teller review of Rise of the Indian Rope Trick
Teller review of Rise of the Indian Rope Trick
The NY Times Book Review on Sunday, February 13th, carried a piece by Teller on Peter Lamont's book "The Rise of the Indian Rope Trick." I'm intrigued to read the book after having read Teller's entertaining and very well-written review. In the review, Teller relates some of the history of this hoax. Have any Forum members read the book?
Re: Teller review of Rise of the Indian Rope Trick
Andy, the book is also very entertaining. Peter Lamont has an irreverent and humorous writing style, yet if his research notes (at the back of the book a very nice thing for historians) are any indication, he put in a lot of work and approached his subject seriously. As magic histories go, this is one of the funniest written, IMHO. Clay

Clay, thanks for the info. I'll look forward to reading it. Did you get a chance to see Teller's review? It's probably still available on the NYT website.
