Fascinating recount of 75 years of Genii

Postby Joji Matsuo » November 15th, 2012, 8:46 pm

The feature article in the Nov Dec issue of Genii was very captivating. Thanks for the insight into how this magazine continues to reign in the world of magic.

I wrote to Max to congratulate him on this massive undertaking, which he handled so well. In addition to being an account of 75 years of Genii, it is an amazing recounting of much of the history of magic itself.

Kudos to Max Maven!!

Max did indeed do a wonderful job.

I don't think anyone has a real idea of just what an enormous task it was, and he created an enjoyable breezy trip through 75 years of Genii.

Just finished it today. There is probably no one in magic that could have done a better job with the countless details that are woven into this article.
The only thing I did not see (or missed) in discusing the evolotion in the Kaufman years of the maggazine was the steady use of physical extras packaged with the magagine. Although not the first, Richard is the one responsible for raising the bar in this area with DVDs, card tricks and the like coming with your physical magazine. It's happening a bit more regularly with other magazines but I feel Genii really set the example by adding this extra value to a subscription.

Another thank you to Max Maven. This was obviously not an easy project at all. It required patience, diligence, and knowledge. Thanks, Max.

And congrats to Richard, his wife, staff, and contributors for not only successfully keeping the heritage going but for improving it.

And additional congrats for being continuously on-time (early actually!) That rarity's got to be worth at least an extra 100 points!
