Kalin & Jinger

Postby John Pezzullo » January 28th, 2005, 5:18 am

I have just awarded Dustin Stinett's feature article on 'Kalin & Jinger', published in the January issue of GENII, a five-star rating.

Congratulations to Dustin on producing such a well written, insightful, and informative feature about a delightful couple.

I cannot recall if this is the first feature article that Dustin has written for GENII, but I certainly hope that he continues to write more feature articles in the coming years.

I don't know anything at all about photography, but you don't have to know anything to recognise the high quality work of a real professional. As such, I've awarded Pete Biro a five-star rating for the photogrpahs that supplement Dustin's article.

John,

Thanks for the very kind words, I truly appreciate them. Having a terrific subject makes such a task easy and, in this case, a lot of fun! And yes, Pete did his usual incredible job, and the Kaufmans, Richard (editor) and Liz (layout), brought it all togethera true team effort. The Kalins deserve nothing less! They are indeed wonderful people and it was a great pleasure (and honor) working with them on this project.

Thanks again,
Dustin

Thanks John, it was fun to work with Mark and Jinger... having known Mark since he was a teenager... he is a true professional. He had a complete shot list and schedule and I was able to fly in to Reno, do the shoot, and even get home on an earlier flight!

It is nice to see Liz do such cool layouts, she makes the snaps look good.

FYI: Nikon D100 Digital camera, shot raw NEF FILES and converted to Tiff, burned to CD and Fedexed to Genii. Used off camera strobe.
Stay tooned.

Liz Kaufman is a fabulous art director, but referring to your photographs as "snaps," Pete, is like referring to a Rolls Royce as a jalopey.

Yeah, like 200-300 extra shots.

Dustin got to hang out with her? Well I guess it's a tough job, but someone has to do it. Go Dustin!

Thanks for the tech info, Pete! Now where do we get your talent, instinct, and artistic sense to use the equipment? ;)

BTW, do you have pics from NWMJ?
