I was wondering if someone uses the one hand push-off described in Expert Card Technique p.10.
In fact, I am not sure to quite understand the move.

I'm pretty sure the answer to your original question is "No, no one does." I've always assumed it was a knack possessed by at most one person, who most likely has gone on to that great green baize in the sky.

It is a real technique, but the details that make it work are missing from the description in Expert Card Technique. None of the people who know the details want to describe it because it's really the secret of a Push-Off Second Deal.

Hmmm..... might 'Mr. Jennings Takes It Tough' shed some light on one person who knew such things?

Larry may have known the technique because of Vernon, but if he did, I never saw it. He did not use it in his regular work.

I also never saw Larry do a Second Deal, and I can't recall any tricks in which he used one (though I am sure there are a few). He DID use a Bottom Deal, though, so it would seem to make sense that if he did a great Second Deal, he would have put it to use.

I wish I could announce the publication of "Mr. Jennings Takes it Easy" on Tuesday, but alas that won't be the case. What's coming will effect and be of value to many more people than the pool of potential customers for that book.

Larry had a great second deal. (A one hand second deal)
He called it the snap second deal and he described it in the Cardwright P.150.
Talking about Larry's second deal, he explains that he also uses a buckle technique for creating the gab below the double card.
Personnaly, I think that the one hand push-off described in ECT is based on a buckle technique that permits to push-off two cards aligned.
It works but it is a difficult technique to master.

I hate both the Snap Double Lift and the Snap Second Deal, so Iforgot about them because they are blanked from my mind. Poor attention grabbing techniques. Larry had a fondness for certain things like that, but you won't see them in my books of his work.
