Card Stab with a restaurant menu...Does anyone know where it came from?

A place where beginners can participate, ask questions, and post their views. However, beginners typically ask a lot of questions about sources, tricks, books, and so on. In fact, all magicians are interested (or should be) in the provenance of tricks, ideas, and related matters. This department will service these needs.

Card Stab with a restaurant menu...Does anyone know where it came from?

Hi Everyone! I cant remember where I saw this before but it is an effect where a brand new deck of cards is opened, shuffled, card is selected, and shuffled again by the spectator without the magician even touching the cards even once. Then the cards are spread out on the table and a menu is placed over the cards. (the card is sandwiched inside the menu!) The knife is stabbed into the menu and when the menu is removed, the spectators card is on the knife. I think this is a brilliant effect!

Has anyone seen this effect before? If so, do you know where it comes from? I would love to do this effect but I dont know if I will get into trouble without permission.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
