History of "The Art of Modern Conjuring "

A place where beginners can participate, ask questions, and post their views. However, beginners typically ask a lot of questions about sources, tricks, books, and so on. In fact, all magicians are interested (or should be) in the provenance of tricks, ideas, and related matters. This department will service these needs.

Regarding the book
The Art of Modern Conjuring
by anonymous (?)

I have two questions :

1. Why is the order of the table of content not chronological? weird.. no?
2. I have the same book but with a different title : The boy's book of conjuring anyone knows the history of this? Why two different titles? No author mentioned? Is this book supposed to be an "exposing" book?

thanks

The only book I find is :
The Art of Modern Conjuring, Magic & illusions by
Henru Garenne - 1886

To quote Bart Whaley :"It's a partial plagiarism of Hofmann's Modern Magic"
